To commemorate the 25th year of M.Tech. (Thermal Sciences), TAPAS was launched by the students as a programme newsletter. TAPAS is derived from the Sanskrit word TAP (ताप) meaning heat. The newsletter is published monthly to provide information to the students regarding the field of Thermal Sciences. It is also aimed as a platform for the students to nurture their writing skills. The first issue was launched in January 2015 as an initiative by students of Batch 2013-15 under the guidance of Programme Coordinator Dr. S. Jayaraj.
The newsletter is informative in nature which currently provides insight into energy scenario in India and its development, contribution by esteemed scientists/mathematicians in this field, instruments which are used by students during their research work and relevant software which may be useful to the students. Additional sections include students corner and upcoming conferences.
TAPAS is an ongoing endeavour and we solicit suggestions towards it growth and development as a newsletter. |
