| Hands-on Training was conducted by expert from DynaFusion Technologies Pvt ltd.,retailer of DSpace,Germany. R&D Controller board dSPACE ace kit 1104 PCIE and PPC controller board dSPACE ace kit 1103 PX4 CLP were put into use and studied thoroughly. The training spanned for an entire day and was attended by over 40 students. |

| Instrumentation and control track of IEEE SPICES 2015 |

| The IEEE SPICES (Signal Processing, informatics, Communication and Energy Systems) Conference was held over 3 days in February 2015 in the NITC Campus. The Conference was jointly organized by IEEE Kerala Section and NIT Calicut. The instrumentation and control track was chaired by Dr. Jeevamma Jacob, Head of Department, Electrical Engineering Department, NIT Calicut and co chaired by Dr. U.P. Rajeev, Dy. Head, Guidance Design Division of Control and Guidance Design Group; Control, Guidance and Simulation Entity, VSSC Thiruvananthapuram and Dr. Mija S. J, Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, NIT Calicut. The keynote lecture for the track was delivered by Dr. Laxmidhar Behara, professor from IIT Kanpur. The instrumentation and control track of conference was held over 4 sessions. Scholars from around the country had attended the conference and about 25 papers were presented in the 4 sessions which were presided by renowned faculties from the department and outside. |

| Faculty development programme on Advanced Control: Theory and Application |

| The Faculty Development program was conducted over a week from 8th December to 14th December 2014. Over 50 faculty members from various parts of the country attended the workshop. The workshop which was sponsored by MHRD and TEQIP together was coordinated by Dr. Mija S. J and Dr. Jeevamma Jacob. Dr. Ramkalyan, faculty from NIT Trichy, Dr. U.P. Rajeev, Dy. Head at VSSC Thiruvananthapuram and faculty members of EED held over a dozen of sessions with topics ranging from Non-linear Systems and Control to Fractional Order Systems and Control. |
